Our Privacy-First Approach

Compress To KB is designed with privacy as a foundational principle, not an afterthought. Unlike most online image tools, we do not upload your images to a remote server for processing. All compression happens entirely within your web browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API.

No Image Uploads

When you select or drag and drop an image into our tool, it is loaded into your browser's local memory using the FileReader API. The image data remains on your device throughout the entire compression process. There is no network request that transmits your image to any server. This means:

• Your images are never transmitted over the internet.
• Your images are not stored on any remote server.
• Your images cannot be accessed by us or any third party.
• Your images exist only in your browser's memory and are discarded when you close the page.

No Analytics on Image Data

We do not use analytics services that capture or process your image data. Any analytics we may implement in the future would be limited to anonymous usage metrics such as page views and feature interactions, and would explicitly exclude any image content, filenames, or file metadata.

No Third-Party Compression APIs

Our compression engine is entirely self-contained. We do not use external APIs, cloud services, or third-party image processing platforms. All algorithms run locally in your browser. This eliminates the risk of your data being handled by external providers with different privacy policies.

Local Storage

We store only your theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser's localStorage. This is a single string value that contains no personal information and is used solely to remember your visual preference between visits. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this website.

Advertising & Cookies Policy

Compress To KB does not currently display advertisements. This section is included so the policy stays accurate and complete if that changes in the future.

If and when we display ads, they would be served through Google AdSense, a service provided by Google, Inc. Google, and other third-party vendors, may then use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet, and to compile information that lets an ad server recognize your browser between visits.

Once advertising is active, users will be able to opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by opting out of third-party vendor cookies by visiting aboutads.info. We will update this page with the exact date advertising begins.

Beyond any future advertising cookies, Compress To KB does not use cookies for tracking or profiling. All image compression happens entirely in your browser, and no personal data is stored on our servers.

Data Security

Because all processing is client-side, the security of your images is entirely under your control. We recommend using an up-to-date browser from a trusted vendor to ensure that the JavaScript execution environment is secure. We do not collect, process, or store any personal data.
